The cultivation of our Sicilian Dry Lentil takes place in loose soils where abundant productions are possible and tend to be clayey and calcareous, thus typical of our territory. The lentil belongs to the Leguminosae family and takes its name from the typical “lens” shape of the legume itself. To enjoy our typical lentils in so many recipes, all you have to do is make your purchase here, directly on the Sicily Citrus website. <\/p>\n
To prepare this alternative burger you must start by cooking about 250 g of lentils. Once cooked, drain them and set them aside. Grate 2 carrots and cook them in a pan with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and a red onion. In a blender, chop about 80 g of walnuts and add the cooked vegetables and lentils. Blend adding the zest of half a lemon and spices to your taste. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and mix it with 150 gr breadcrumbs. Finally cook in a frying pan with a drizzle of oil until completely browned. Sicilia Agrumi’s Lenticchia Secca is characterized by a very thin skin that does not peel off when cooked and acts as a wrapper to a buttery interior that is soft and creamy on the palate.
