It is not always required, but creating an account makes it easier to find your orders, manage shipping details and reorder more quickly in the future.

Can I change an order after placing it?

Once the order has been handed over to the courier, changes are not always possible.

Fresh products and quality

Information about citrus fruit, fresh fruit, natural products, treatments and boxes.

Are the products fresh?

Yes. Fresh products are selected and shipped in line with harvest times and logistics planning.

For citrus and fresh fruit, colour, size, shape and ripeness may vary because this is natural fruit, not artificially standardised.

Are all the fruits the same?

No. Natural fruit is never perfectly identical. Size, skin colour, shape and ripeness may vary depending on variety, season, weather and harvest time.

Why do some fruits have marks on the skin?

Citrus and naturally grown fruit may have small marks, wind scars, superficial scratches or colour differences.

Minor cosmetic imperfections do not mean the product is spoiled and do not necessarily affect the quality of the flesh.

Are the products treated?

Many Sicilia Agrumi products are organic or come from certified farms, depending on availability and variety.

We always recommend reading the individual product page, where specific information on cultivation, origin and certifications is provided.

Is the peel edible?

When stated on the product page, the peel can also be used in cooking.

In any case, we always recommend washing the fruit thoroughly before eating it, especially when using the peel for desserts, liqueurs, jams or recipes.

Are the products organic?

Sicilia Agrumi offers various organic and certified products depending on seasonal availability.

Not all products on the website necessarily carry the same certification: always check the product page before purchasing.

Do you only sell citrus fruit?

No. In addition to oranges, lemons, mandarins, clementines, grapefruits and other Sicilian citrus fruit, we also offer Sicilian tropical fruit, seasonal fruit and traditional products.

Depending on the season, available products may include avocado, mango, papaya, pitaya, pomegranates, preserves, jams, oil, artisan pasta and Sicilian specialities.

What are fixed boxes?

Fixed boxes are pre-packed boxes containing a specific quantity of a product. They are ideal for anyone who wants to buy a particular variety, such as oranges, lemons, mandarins, avocado or other seasonal products.

What are mixed boxes?

Mixed boxes let you receive several products in a single shipment. They are ideal for anyone who wants to try different Sicilian specialities or combine table fruit, citrus and seasonal products.

Can I choose what goes into the mixed box?

It depends on availability and the configuration currently active on the website. When possible, you can select products or indicate preferences. If in doubt, contact us before completing your order.

Calendar, seasonality and availability

When citrus shipments begin and which products are available throughout the year.

When does citrus season start?

The Sicilian citrus season generally starts in autumn and continues through winter and spring, with different varieties depending on the period.

The first varieties may be available from October/November, while some blood oranges arrive in the heart of winter.

When do orange shipments start?

Orange shipments begin when the fruit is ready to be harvested and shipped at the right quality.

We do not ship simply because 'it is the season': we prefer to wait for the right stage of ripeness.

When are Navel oranges available?

Navel oranges are usually among the first oranges of the season. They are generally available between autumn and winter, depending on weather conditions and ripeness.

When are Tarocco oranges available?

Tarocco oranges are typical of the Sicilian winter. They are generally available from December to March/April, depending on the season.

When are Moro oranges available?

Moro oranges are among the most intensely coloured blood oranges. They are usually available in winter, when temperature differences between day and night encourage the red pigmentation of the flesh.

When are Sanguinello oranges available?

Sanguinello oranges usually arrive after the first blood-orange varieties and may be available from late winter into spring, depending on the year.

When are lemons available?

The Femminello Siracusa lemon can flower several times during the year. This means lemons may be available in different periods, with varieties such as Primofiore, Bianchetto and Verdello.

What is the difference between Primofiore, Bianchetto and Verdello?

They are different lemon flowering cycles.

  • Primofiore: typical of autumn and winter.
  • Bianchetto: generally a spring crop.
  • Verdello: typical of summer, with greener skin even though the lemon is ripe.
Why aren't blood oranges always equally red?

Red pigmentation depends on the variety, ripeness and temperature differences between day and night. For this reason, flesh colour can vary during the season.

Why is a product I bought last year not available now?

Because we work with seasonal products. Availability depends on weather, ripeness, harvest, quantities produced and fruit quality.

Some products are only available for a few weeks or in limited quantities.

Shipping, costs and delivery times

Information about couriers, deliveries in Italy, international shipping and costs.

Do you ship throughout Italy?

Yes, we ship throughout Italy by express courier.

How much does shipping cost in Italy?

For many fixed and mixed citrus boxes, the price generally includes VAT and shipping within Italy.

For traditional products and small quantities, shipping may be charged separately and is always shown in the cart before payment.

The cart always shows the updated final cost before the order is confirmed.

How long does delivery take?

In Italy, delivery generally takes 48/72 business hours from dispatch.

Times may vary depending on the area, courier, time of year, public holidays, weather conditions or possible logistics disruptions.

When are orders dispatched?

Shipments are organised around harvest times and logistics. Orders are usually dispatched on the most suitable days to reduce the risk of goods sitting in depots over the weekend.

Why don't you ship every day?

Because we ship fresh fruit. Scheduling departures on the best days helps preserve product quality and reduce time spent in courier warehouses.

We prefer to ship at the safest time, not simply the fastest.

Which couriers do you use?

Shipments in Italy are generally handled by express couriers such as BRT/Bartolini or GLS, depending on the area and logistics planning.

Can I choose the courier?

The courier is normally selected based on the destination and the best available logistics solution. If you have specific requirements, contact us before ordering.

Can I request a specific delivery day?

We cannot guarantee an exact delivery day because transport depends on the courier. We can, however, help you choose the best time to place your order.

What happens if I am not at home for delivery?

The courier may make another delivery attempt or leave instructions for arranging redelivery.

We recommend using an address where someone is usually available, especially because the shipment contains fresh food.

Do you also ship abroad?

Yes, Sicilia Agrumi also ships to several European countries. Costs and delivery times may vary depending on the destination country, order weight and available rate.

How much does international shipping cost?

International shipping costs vary depending on the destination country, order weight and rates available at the time of purchase.

The cost is shown or calculated during the ordering process.

Can I pay on delivery?

Yes, cash on delivery is available. Any additional charges are shown in the cart before the order is confirmed.

Can I pay by bank transfer?

Are online payments secure?

Yes. Online payments are handled through secure systems and reliable payment platforms.

Can I receive an invoice?

If you need an invoice, enter the required details correctly when placing your order or contact us immediately after your purchase.

It is important to provide the details before the order is processed.

Storage, shelf life and expiry dates

How to store citrus fruit, tropical fruit and traditional products after delivery.

How long does citrus fruit last after delivery?

Shelf life depends on the variety, ripeness, temperature and storage method.

In general, citrus fruit can keep for several days or weeks if stored correctly in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place.

How should I store oranges and lemons?

Store citrus fruit in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place. Avoid sealed bags, heat sources, direct sunlight and very humid environments.

If you have a large quantity, check the box regularly and separate any fruit that is riper.

Do I need to keep citrus fruit in the refrigerator?

It is not essential. If your home is warm, you can keep some of the citrus fruit in the refrigerator, preferably in the fruit and vegetable drawer.

The important thing is to avoid condensation and excessive humidity.

What should I do as soon as I receive the box?

Open the box, check the products and let them breathe. Do not keep the fruit closed in the packaging for a long time, especially when outside temperatures are high.

How long does Sicilian tropical fruit last?

It depends on the fruit and its level of ripeness. Mango, avocado, papaya and pitaya can continue to ripen after delivery.

Some fruits should be eaten within a few days, while others can be left to ripen at room temperature.

How can I tell when an avocado is ripe?

A ripe avocado should yield slightly to gentle finger pressure without feeling soft. If it is still hard, leave it at room temperature for a few days.

Do traditional products have expiry dates?

Yes. Packaged products display an expiry date or best-before date set by the producer. Always check the label on the product you receive.

How should I store preserves, jams and packaged products?

Always follow the instructions on the label. In general, many packaged products can be stored in a cool, dry place.

After opening, some products must be refrigerated and consumed within a few days.

Problems with delivery or products

What to do in case of a damaged parcel, delays, spoiled products or after-sales support.

What should I do if the parcel arrives damaged?

If the parcel is visibly damaged, we recommend accepting it 'with reservation' where possible and immediately photographing the outer packaging, shipping label and contents.

Contact us as soon as possible so we can assess the situation.

What should I do if some fruit arrives damaged?

Contact us immediately and send clear photos of the damaged products, the box and the shipping label.

Because these are fresh products, it is important to report the issue promptly.

If one fruit is spoiled, do I have to throw away the whole box?

No. A single fruit can sometimes spoil during transport or as it ripens.

In these cases, it is important to remove it from the box so it does not affect the other products.

What happens if the courier is delayed?

Delays may be caused by traffic, weather, hard-to-reach areas, public holidays, strikes or logistics disruptions.

We do our best to ship on the most suitable days, but once the parcel has been handed to the courier, delays may occur that are not directly under our control.

Can I request a refund or replacement?

Each case is assessed individually. To receive assistance, you need to contact us promptly and send photos of the product and packaging.

Our goal is always to find a fair and transparent solution.
