Moro oranges possess a characteristic sweet flavor, and their flesh is very pigmented with a deep red color. The characteristics of these very good Sicilian oranges are obtained thanks to the particular climatic conditions of our territory, the frequent temperature ranges in fact favor the production of oranges of excellence, not found in other areas. Moro oranges are spherical in shape, medium in size and are very rich in Vitamin C, magnesium, potassium, selenium and anthocyanins. The latter are powerful natural antioxidants that are essential for our bodies as they protect tissues from aging, seasonal ailments, cancers, and help our heart to stay in an optimal state at all times. Moro oranges, compared to other varieties, possess a more intense flavor and their consumption is mainly intended for juicing. Precisely because of these characteristics, today I propose a tasty and delicious recipe, plumcake in the version flavored with Sicilian Moro orange. This is a very soft cake, ideal to be enjoyed at breakfast and snack time, perhaps accompanied by a cup of hot tea. Thanks to its lightness, the Moro orange plumcake is also great for the little ones, who are sure to love it.

Ingredients
- 50g butter
- 70g of dark orange juice
- 180g of sugar
- 2 eggs
- Peel of two Moro Oranges (make sure the peel is totally edible)
- 180g of 00 flour
- 250 ml of fresh liquid cream
- 1/2 sachet of baking powder
PREPARATION

First you need to wash the Moro oranges and obtain the zest; then, using the help of a mixer, pulverize it. Incorporate the butter, flour, eggs, zest mixture, sugar, cream, and juice of the oranges into the mixer, and mix by adding the baking powder. Next, butter a plumcake mold and preheat the oven to 180°; lastly, pour the mixture into the mold and bake the Moro orange plumcake for about 50 minutes. An even yummier variation is obtained by adding dark chocolate chips: you will surely make the little ones’ palates happy!
