PRALINE ALMONDS
Here is a simple recipe for creating delicious, crunchy, praline almonds that you can’t help but enjoy one after another! Very few ingredients are needed: -150g almonds; -120g sugar; -waterat room temperature.
Preparation
First, take a pan, preferably made of steel, and pour in the almonds, sugar and water. With a medium-low flame, start stirring until the water begins to boil and crystallize around the almonds; at this point, lower the flame slightly and stir until the sugar has caramelized and turned an amber color. Lay the pralined almonds on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and let them cool. Your pralined almonds are ready to be enjoyed or, if placed inside small bags, they can be made into delicious gifts!

CURIOSITIES
Pralined almonds are known by the name of “sleepy-sweeteners.” In some areas, it was apparently customary to bring them as a gift when visiting one’s fiancée’s house: that way, the mother-in-law, busy enjoying the delicious treat, would not be able to disturb the sweethearts and, sometimes, would even go so far as to fall asleep!
